After losing her previous Timex watch, I decided to buy my mom a new one. I was looking for something bigger than the typical women’s watch because she was complaining that the one she had before was difficult to read due to its small size. Similarly, she didn’t like the ones that have leather straps since every time she cooks, she gets her hands wet and we all know that water and leather are not compatible.Knowing all that, I knew that I had to get her a nylon strap because actually my own Timex watch has that kind of band, and she liked it. Besides that, the nylon strap is lighter than a metal one and more resistant than the one made out of rubber. Above all, the main feature that I was looking for, it was a backlight. Timex is well known for the Indiglo light (see the pictures) , and in my opinion this brand is one of the best choices out there. I was initially planning on buying a digital watch, but she liked analog watches more.  Fortunately, I bought this watch when it was on sale for $22, and it was a good deal for all the features that can came with it. When it arrived, she began using it right away. At first she said it was a little bulky, but now she can read it without any problems. The watch is 38mm width by 9 mm thick, and the strap length is 26cm (10 3/6″). The band has a width of 20 mm if anyone is wondering that and wants to change the strap. On the other hand, you can hear the well known sound of the “tic-tic” if you put your ear close to the watch, although it isn’t that loud.It also comes with the instructions. Although it is really easy to use, and the watch doesn’t have too many features, it is good for somebody who wants to take a look at it.The only drawback is that this watch doesn’t have the date, which is something that always comes in handy. On the whole, great deal for the features and quality that you can get with it.

Hi all, just wanted to share my thoughts about the watch after wearing it everyday for the past year. Honestly, with nearly 5000 reviews of the watch, the watch speaks for itself but I love the watch and it deserves an in-depth review.Pros:-It’s a quartz movement so it’ll keep time much more accurately than any mechanical watches. I generally need to adjust by a few minutes every couple of months or so.-I’ve abused this watch (banging against walls/desks, dropping it on the floor, submerging under water, leaving it out in freezing/scorching weathers) but still runnin like a champ with the slightest of scratches on the glass-Indiglo has been useful to light up the watch face in the dark-Timeless design makes it easy to dress up or downIt has some Cons:-Quartz movements are battery powered which means you’ll have to swap out the batteries every few years and you’ll probably want to get it serviced professionally (especially for the faint-hearted)-Quartz movements also mean that you’ll have to get used to the classic timebomb “tick” of the second movement hand. If you have an apartment room as small as mine, you’ll hear it all night long.-Probably wouldn’t go too deep in the water-Polish is not very good and somewhat uneven (but it might be from the aforementioned abuse)-Included nato strap frays easily (see pictures) – probably within the first month but i’ve learned to live with it… Until I ordered a new one just now. With all that being said, I’d HIGHLY recommend his watch to anyone who wants a no nonsense cheap watch that keeps accurate time and looks classy. I own 2 mechanical watches but I feel that I have to be extra careful of my surroundings (especially here in NYC) to avoid bumping into a subway turnstile or a construction scaffolding. That’s it. It’s probably the best $30 i’ve spent this year other than maybe the totes umbrella which lasted over a year here in NYC (which is amazing).

I haven’t worn a wrist watch in decades (yes, I’m old). I finally realized I needed one at work in order to follow a schedule and so I purchased a cheap watch with some unknown brand name. The watch that arrived wasn’t as described so I sent it back. I realized that sometimes you have to pay a little more for a NAME BRAND that you know is of good quality and so I purchased this TIMEX!I’m so glad that they have the Weekender in so many different styles. I’m the kind of person who likes a watch to be a watch, not a calendar, not a stopwatch, not a computer, just a watch. I found this style, which has a nice white face and big, black, easy to read, numbers 1-12 (not numerals I-XII), which also has Indiglo to make it easy to read at night!I’ve been wearing it for over a week and it’s great! (and just a little strange getting used to looking at my wrist for the time after all these years!)

Even with all of the excellent reviews for this watch, I was skeptical of how good it could be given the low price. However, I took a chance and very happy that I did. The picture doesn’t do this watch justice – “in person” it looks and feels very high quality. I love the very plain, uncluttered, retro appearance.I’ve never had a nylon watch band, but so far I love it. Most comfortable watch I’ve ever worn. I’ve always hated watches – leather makes my wrist sweat like crazy and metal links grab and pull my arm hairs all day. The nylon is extremely comfortable. I put it on first thing in the morning and take it off just before bed, and hardly notice it is there throughout the day.Other reviewers have mentioned that the ticking is loud. I suppose it is loud in comparison to other watches, but it is only really noticeable when you are sitting in silence. Even the slightest noise will cover up the sound of the ticking. Actually, when I can hear the ticking, I find it soothing – reminds me of the old clock at my grandparents’ house when I was sleeping over!I can’t recommend this watch highly enough. Buy it now!

I love this watch. The fact that I can easily change the band to one of a different color or pattern, or change to a different style of band, makes this watch very customizable to your mood or what you are wearing for the day. I will say that this watch IS a unisex watch as the face is a bit larger than most women’s watches have. I took some measurements of the watch that I felt were missing in the description. The crystal, or glass, and face is 1 1/4 inches across. The body of the watch, not including the crown (the knob/button you spin to set time and press to activate the indiglo night-light) is 1 1/2 inches across. The band itself, which I found to be pretty true to color, a merlot/burgundy, is 10 1/2 inches long from the inner lip of the buckle clasp to the end and 3/4 inch wide. The indiglo night-light turns on when the button, or crown, is pressed, and goes off when the button is released. The light is a pale blueish-geen.Yes, there is a ticking sound but I don’t find it to be any louder than any of the other watches that I own.The second hand, which looks matte gray in the photo, is a shiny silver in person. It matches the body of the watch. If you decide to shower while wearing this watch or it happens to get wet, the band IS fabric and may take a little while to dry. This watch has a stainless steel back and when its time to replace the battery, requires a CR2016 cell or button battery.I hope that this review helps anyone interested in this watch.

A main selling point for me when buying this watch was the loose band that feeds through the two watch lugs. I’ve had several watches over the years in which the watch bands had failed me. One of my favorite watches had a simple army green nylon band that lasted until it frayed and became unmanageable. Ive never liked the rubber like bands that sport watches seem to feature. They tend to tear on me. Metal bracelet style bands also are prone to break on my wrist. So this nylon style bands seems like a good choice for me.The watch time piece itself is good size for small to medium wrists. The stainless steel bezel and lugs are solidly built and very good looking. Certainly looks more expensive than what I paid for it. The watch face is average looking and although I’ve only had the watch for less than a day, I’ve had zero difficulty making out the hands. Some say the hands ring silver in color are difficult to read against the black background of the watch face. I like the red second hand a lot.I would have to hold the watch up to my ear to hear the ticking in a room with the TV on or if people are talking. In a quiet room, such as a bedroom getting ready to go to sleep, I can easily hear the ticking. But I can also hear the ticking on my other clocks and they don’t bother me. I don’t have any trouble sleeping with ticking clocks.I have not tested out the water resistance quality. I imagine showering with it in won’t hurt it. Even so, at paying around $25, if it breaks, you’re not out of a fortune.I’ve already ordered a leather band for it and I like that you can buy other nylon bands and how easy they are interchangeable.I’m not upset that there isn’t a date feature. I had an analog watch with a date window at the three o’clock spot and whenever a month had an odd number of days, I had to reset it amd it was a pain because it also had a week day feature. The week day window featured an English day of the week for AM and for some reason a Spanish day of week for PM. But being an analog watch, it was inexact when the day of the week switched over as well as the date.It was refreshing how frank the instructions were. There’s nothing to this watch. It’s dead simple.

I haven’t worn a watch in over a decade because I just use my phone, but I just had a baby and I don’t want her growing up seeing me always reaching for it, or with it constantly nearby. I ordered this watch thinking it would come as the bright green watch band that displays on my screen in the first picture. Much to my delight, it came and is actually a nice olive/army green shown in the other pictures. I wouldn’t mind either way but the true olive is certainly more wardrobe compatible! The quality of the watch part itself is very good. It feels like a much more expensive watch and my husband was complimentary of it and generally he is apathetic about my accessories. When I ordered the watch, I guess I hadn’t paid close attention and I thought the smaller numbers were for seconds but they are actually the hours for a 24/hr clock, which is pretty neat. I also love the indiglo feature on a watch that is so un-sporty. Because the watch is oversized for a feminine wrist, I am getting a sore spot on the wrist bone from the watch case rubbing but I assume that will resolve itself with time.Update: I adjusted the fit by one hole on the band and the watch wears a little loosely but all rubbing has stopped and I like the fit. It was silent when I got it, but now has a noticeable “tick” sound anytime the watch is face up. It doesn’t bother me but my husband has mentioned it a few times. Also, I really like that the face and hands are bold enough that I can read the watch at night when I’m up with baby with just the aid of a nightlight and no glasses, without needing my free hand to use the glo feature. I’m so dependent on this watch now that the only time I take it off is to shower, and then I put it opposite the glass so I can still see the time.

I have long wanted a watch, may sound like a simple desire, but I am financially challenged. The watch was $24.97,When I bought this watch, I was sort of skeptical as to the quality and if it was really genuine. After placing my order, the watch was promptly sent and received and in a well protected order box. When I took the watch out, I was so excited to put it on my wrist..Tada I had my watch. It is a simple but grand watch, the face has both hourly numbers and under it has military time (13 /14/ 15 etc). The second hand is long and well defined I can see it as it ticks and not have to squint to track it. The band is great no trouble with it bothering me in any manner. I have, deliberately, when washing dishes and taking it with me in a shower, to prolong it to the water with-out any problem from the watch itself or the band. The band dried out very fast (BTW -Body Heat??- IDK)I can hear the seconds Tic Tic Tic..at first, I was worried about it, thinking it might be a craftsman issue but now I only hear it when I listen for it.I have placed it on both wrist. To see, if I had any trouble with its weight or clinking on things since I hadn’t worn a watch, since Basic Training. I didn’t have any issues and I soon got used to it.I now look at my watch more often then my cell phone or the clock on the task bar to see the time.Thank youTimex for helping me get a watch I am proud and happy to have on my wrist.

I’ve had this watch for more than 5 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I got it as a weekend/outdoors counterpart to my Timex Easy Readers that I wore to the office for more than a decade (one for brown belts, one for black belts). During Covid and WFH, it’s even more literally my daily wearer. My Weekender has for years stood up to everything I’ve thrown at it, worked perfectly, and gotten me several compliments. It’s easy to read and has a subtle elegance. At 38mm–not too big, but not small either–the size is perfect to serve you in the outdoors and also augment a subtle style or aesthetic on a night out.I don’t like to swim, much less dive. So all I look for in a watch, in terms of WR, is whether it can survive me getting caught in a summer shower, get dishwater splashed on it, or, worst case scenario, a quick splash in the pool or ocean. I haven’t swam in this watch, but I’ve certainly done the first 2 on those list with it. The case held up just fine, no fogging or worse, and wearing a fabric strap means it won’t get funky–and you can just throw it in the wash anyway.Despite not swimming in it, I do “sport” in this watch otherwise–jogging, mountain biking, softball, etc. In all those situations, the watch was fine. No signs of slowing down, no cracks or scratches. The indiglo backlight flickers, but I have hardly used that since I was a teenager anyway. The quartz movement means you’ll never have to set the watch like a manual needs daily, and like an automatic or solar may require. I’ve never replaced the battery on my Weekender or had to reset the time because it was off. After a day of sporting, you can toss the sweaty strap in the laundry and pick out a new one based on your outfit, all in a couple seconds. My Weekender was my introduction to NATO and other single-pass fabric straps, and they’re now my go-to daily watch set-up.I’ve never replaced the battery and haven’t noticed any lost or gained time. I should mention that I don’t really adhere to the mentality that you need to measure how accurate a watch is over a year or more to judge its merits. This watch doesn’t have a date window, which would mean several more resets per year, but between traveling between time zones and DST, I have to reset the Weekender several times a year anyway.I wouldn’t wear this watch with a dressy outfit, but for everything up to that point, it looks appropriate. I don’t like flashy watches or to walk into a room and have my timepiece be the first thing people notice, so this is perfect for me. You should never pick out a watch based on what you think watch snobs will think/say, but if you’re worried about it looking ‘cheap,’ I’ve only gotten compliments about the Weekender. Like many affordable product lines, there is a surprising fandom out there for this watch. At this price point, I don’t think anyone would regret buying it, and its versatility means it may become that go-to watch for when none of the rest make sense. And if it’s your only watch–good choice.

I bought this watch because I googled ‘cheap watches’ and this was the first result that came up.I wasn’t expecting much- I was about to start a job that was predominately outside, and I needed a reliable way to tell time. I didn’t have the money yet for something really nice and more suited for the outdoors, and I figured this would get me to my first paycheck before breaking. Because I had brought the watch with replacing it already in mind, I didn’t treat it with care whatsoever, going about my daily business as I pleased. Surprisingly, my first paycheck came (and went), but the watch did not break. I figured, hey, it’s probably going to break soon anyway, so I might as well wait until it does and get my full use out of it.This damned thing lasted for almost 2 years. I had no idea how it lasted through everything I put it through- extreme temperatures (sub-zero F to over 110 F), an industrial fryer (still have a nasty scar), exploding bags of chili, showers, pools, unexpected barn animal fluids, mud, snow, dropping it out of a moving car (by accident), throwing it off a cliff (for fun) and the neverending dirt and dust–the face is all scratched to hell with my initials carved into the back, the band is faded and slightly smells of french fries, and there’s a huge scrape on the edge where I nearly died while rock climbing- but the face still lights up, and the hands still tell time.Revisiting the page now, it seems it’s gone up in price by a bit. But I definitely got my money’s worth, and it still hasn’t broken. If you don’t want any bells and whistles and just want a watch- this is for you.
